Writing about the rest of day 2...but it is day 3.

So I'm having a good time writing these blogs and entertaining myself...and hopefully others. It is 6:30am and my sleeping habits and jet lag are not doing me justice. So here I am! I guess I'll start with going out to dinner last night with Megan and Erica...or at least trying to. So, yesterday at the food festival, there was a booth that told us to try their restaurant out and considering the prices...our cheap American asses had to try it out. We get there after our lovely walk (you have to walk pretty much everywhere here) and got into this bar/restaurant and couldn't figure out for the life of us how to order and take care of business. So we asked around a little but we still were so skeptical and out of our norm that we just left and started walking back towards our dorms. We stopped a few places to see what else was going on and some places were closed (restaurants close whenever they want if they are not busy) at like 8pm and some were just as confusing to deal with as the first place. We went back home and ate some of the food we got at M&S/Fresh&Easy imposter and hung out with some of our group and enjoyed watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians...the episode where Khloe(sp?) and Lamar(sp?) gets married. It was entertaining to say the least! Oh...and the people we were hanging out with explained they had the same issue with going out to eat and explained that you have to order at the bar...tell them which table you will sit at...and go sit. Then they will bring your food and drinks to you. They also explained how difficult it was for them to figure out the concept too so I think it made us feel a little better about ourselves and our failed journey. I also wanted to touch on the subject of how funny it is that they always talk about how American food is so horrible for you and I can't say it isn't bad...but I have ran into about three different fried chicken places...Southern Fried Chicken (this was seriously the name), Kentucky Fried Chicken (just like the U.S.), and then there was this little stand of fried EVERYTHING I saw the other night. I don't know how their food is any different in caloric value and all that crap and the portions don't seem to be different either. I assume the walking everywhere and not having drive-thrus may be a factor in their lives. Who knows. Anyways, I have some pictures and I'll just put captions in to explain my infatuation with each object I assume. I sadly don't know the name of the buildings yet so basically I'm just taking pictures of things that I think are pretty. Class starts today at 8:45am so maybe I'll try to lay down for an hour...hahaha.
